GREY COLOUR TRANSITIONS
Colour Specialist Salon

We understand that going grey can be an emotional roller coaster! You may not be ready to accept your new silver strands or the burden of concealing your greys once they take over your roots.

▵ WHY SHOULD I EMBRACE MY GREY?
As you get older, the number of pigment-containing cells in your outer skin layer decreases, meaning your skin will look paler and often more translucent. Your hair follicles also produce less melanin pigment that gives you your natural hair colour, causing grey hair. By embracing the softer greying tones of your hair, it will compliment your lighter complexion and suit your skin tone better rather than having a harsh contrast.
FACT: As you age your hair doesn't lose its pigment or just turn grey happens as an old hair is shed, new hair that grows are already grey/white through this pigment loss in the hair follicle.
▵ WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WITH MY GREY COLOUR TRANSITION?
Like any colour change or colour correction, it may take a few sessions to achieve your Snow Blonde or Smoky Blonde Blend, especially if you have colour build up or still have a lot of naturally dark hair. But once you have reached your new Grey/Blonde colour it will be much more manageable and low maintenance than 'covering up' your greys, as it is blended with your natural greying roots.
▵ DOES GREY HAIR REQUIRE EXTRA CARE?
As your hair typically gets finer with age and since this is also a lightening service, to get you the best results and optimal hair condition, we recommend you opt for Wellaplex during this colour transition. Wellaplex No.1 and No.2 is applied in salon, with the option for an additional take-home treatment, No.3. Wellaplex is a bond strengthener, which means it reconstructs hair bonds to achieve stronger hair. It also enables optimal colour penetration for long lasting colour. To reduce unwanted warmth and brassiness in your homecare routine, we also recommend our Wella Invigo Blonde Recharge Range, which maintains the brightness and vibrancy of both natural and coloured blondes and contains colour depositing pigments to refresh blonde tones!
