How to Beautifully Embrace Your Grey...by going Blonde!
Going grey can be an emotional roller coaster! You may not be ready to accept your new silver strands and once there is nothing but grey growing in at your roots, the hassle of trying to hide your greys under traditional brown or black tints becomes a futile, time-consuming and expensive task. Inevitably every 4 weeks you have a grey hairline showing through that is highly visible as it contrasts against the darker tint shades.
The other option of going completely natural isn't that appealing either. While some women look stunning with silver hair not everybody's hair naturally goes that colour. And don’t get us started about the double standard for men and their Salt & Pepper hair that gets them distinguished as a ‘Silver Fox’!
So what can you do!?! How do you embrace your natural colour, without ‘letting yourself go’ or looking 10 years older than you are? Here is how to transition to grey hair gracefully:
The trick is to 'work with' your naturally lightening hair colour - not against it.
All it takes is a great colourist to start a gorgeous transition working with your lighter hair and turning it into a stunning blonde blend that will camouflage your greys!
These blonde looks are the sexiest way to embrace your greys gracefully!
△ ‘Snow Blonde’ a grey-blonde transition for women with naturally lighter (whiter) hair which can be subtly blended with finely woven and tightly packed foil highlights to create a beautiful light and bright creamy blonde colour
△ ‘Smoky Blonde’ a strong blend for women with naturally darker hair (ideal for those turning more silver or salt & pepper) that camouflages greys with blonde foil highlights while keeping an overall ashy or smokey quartz blend of blonde to give a bold and modern finish.
By blending your natural colour (greys and whites) to create a on-trend blonde look, you can confidently go lighter with the added bonus that as your hair grows out it will be a lot less noticeable.
Maintenance will be approximately every 8 - 12 weeks and the best bit is that you'll get to see if blondes really do have more fun!
“I love the freedom and the sophistication of the look. I also feel more approachable because I am no longer masking who I am and confusing people. Finally I feel proud to be able to show the world that what nature has in mind for us can be pleasing to the eye. It’s important for women in today’s beauty culture to display alternative aspects of beauty, to be truth tellers, to bring light to all the possibilities.”

Many celebs in their 50's have embraced this grey as blonde trend, including Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Cate Blanchett, Renee Zellweger, Ellen DeGeneres, and Gweneth Paltrow!
Another thing to help extend your maintenance time between salon visits when you are snow or smokey blonde is to get a toning shampoo, conditioner an treatment. Naturally over time due to elements in our shower water, the sun and other environmental conditions, blonde hair turns brassy (yellow or warm). That's why its important to invest is a salon quality Blonde home care products.
The secret here is to invest in one that won't overload your hair with purple or blue pigments which actually make the blonde go dull, murky and lifeless.
Cheap 'purple' shampoos aggressively stain the hair, and some can even have lightening (bleaching) products in them that damage the hair each time you use them! (yes we are looking at you FUDGE, MUVO and FANOLA!)
If you are going to invest in going and staying a beautiful blonde, its also important to get a premium toning shampoo and conditioner that will provide the right amount of pigment to keep your blonde creamy and bright, plus have high quality moisturising ingredients that will feed you lightened hair to keep it happy and hydrated.
